Duo Mosca-Goy

Liana Mosca, violin
Pierre Goy, fortepiano

The Duo Mosca-Goy was born from the desire of two international artists (Swiss pianist Pierre Goy and Italian violinist Liana Mosca) to deepen the knowledge of 18th- and 19th-centuries music. They pursue a philological approach with performances on period instruments and a careful study of interpretative practices.

Timbral virtuosity, complementary sensitivity and crystalline interpretative quality are the characteristics that critics have attributed to the Duo Mosca-Goy.

Pierre Goy and Liana Mosca recorded Luigi Boccherini's ‘6 Sonatas for Harpsichord and Violin’ as a duo for the Milanese label Stradivarius. The album received enthusiastic reviews and was appointed “album of the month” (November 2017) by Amadeus magazine. In 2023, they recorded Armand-Louis Couperin's 'Sonates en pieces de clavecin avec accompagnement de violon', which received many positive reviews.

A double CD with music by Ignace Ladurner (1766-1839) will be released soon. This is a recording project resulting from research by musicologist Hervé Audéon on the evolution of the Sonata for fortepiano and violin in late 18th century Paris.

The Mosca-Goy duo also collaborated with Stefano Barneschi, Ernest Braucher and Paolo Beschi on the recording of Fréderic Chopin's ‘Œuvres concertantes’ (Lyrinx 2015).

“Sonates en pieces de clavecin avec accompagnement de violon” included among the 10 essential albums of April 2024 by the French magazine CLASSICA
